Works across all departments to lead and support the development of Lean manufacturing initiatives. In addition, the employee will assist in the implementation, training, and sustainment of various manufacturing improvement activities, as well as work special projects as required.

Essential Functions

  • Drives continuous improvement activities across the organization through leading and utilizing continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and developing new manufacturing methods with a goal to increase cost savings and improve Skeeter’s operational KPIs: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity (SQDP).
  • Leads project work to support implementation of Lean principles.
  • Evaluates work process flows using continuous improvement tools (TVP) to improve efficiency and through-put.
  • Leads, assists, and participates on Kaizen teams and projects.
  • Trains / mentors team members on Lean and continuous improvement tools and principles.
  • Completes 5S audits and assist manufacturing in implementing 5S initiatives
  • Leads root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis, implementation, and sustainment.
  • Leads and participates in special projects as required.
  • Provides daily support to manufacturing to assist with emergent issues.
  • Assists Techs in writing Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and process documents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, college course work preferred
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools
  • Experience in implementing and sustaining improvement projects
  • 5S knowledge
  • Problem solving / root cause analysis (RCA) skills
